A few weeks ago I went to a conference in Washington D.C. for YoungPeopleFor. In one of our breakout workshops, I elected to go to one on the evolution of media hosted by Future5000 and a representative from Facebook. This is a YouTube video about Web 2.0 called "The Machine is Us/ing Us" that we watched and I think would be applicable to this class.

B. Paige: These social media outreach sites were great to receive. I haven't gone through all of them but will tell the class to see them. Thanks for sharing.

Speaking of Facebook, it's been interesting to watch a social networking site get so involved in more traditional news media and vice versa. A good example is how ABC News and Facebook co-sponsored a presidential debate for each party in January, and all the interactive features Facebook had in conjunction with the debate. I was actually pretty impressed with what Facebook all did. I look forward to seeing more of that in the future.
